Christina Gentile, Certified Holistic Nutritionist
B.S, M.s, CHN
I’ve been passionate about health and wellness for as long as I can remember. However, as a high school senior about to enter college, my health and life slowly, yet all at once, changed. I became sick with mysterious symptoms that years later, through the help of a functional medicine trained MD, were finally diagnosed as Lyme disease with co-infections, and consequential Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. The havoc this wreaked on my body and the effects on my life have been far-reaching. With a long list of symptoms from the aforementioned conditions, plus an autoimmune thyroid disease that I had been diagnosed with at only 7 years old, I was desperate to feel and be normal again. Like many others have experienced, conventional medical treatment only took me so far and left me feeling hopeless. While I didn’t know much as a teenager about how to obtain optimal health, I had a feeling that my endocrinologist sipping Diet Coke (which contains aspartame, a known neurotoxin) didn’t know either. I began doing my own research about holistic health and attended countless functional medicine conferences with my father (who is an herbalist by training). I learned an invaluable amount and realized there was a lot more to health and healing than what conventional medicine leads you to believe. I went on to receive my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, my Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine, and completed my training as a Certified Holisitic Nutritionist. My mission is to help as many people as possible understand that there is more to health and healing than the “pill for every ill” approach put forth by conventional medicine. It is not normal to deal with feeling anything less than optimal on a daily basis. It is not normal to struggle with fatigue, brain fog, digestive upset, and many other symptoms we have made to be 'normal'. Common doesn't mean normal, and we are meant to thrive and feel empowered by our health every day so we can then show up as our best selves. If you are looking to do more than mask symptoms with pharmaceuticals, know that root-cause healing is possible. If you resonate with any of this, I deeply empathize, and want you to know that there is always a path to healing.
